Agraria
Welcome to Agraria!
Agraria is in it pre-launch campaign. The demo is currently available on Steam, but we'd like to make the full game available to creators willing to help spread the word. It will be part of the Steam Next Fest in June, and launch shortly thereafter.
Agraria is a unique cozy farming simulator that keeps the focus on the farm. There's no town to wander through, no birthdays to remember. Social obligations are minimized; instead, players can concentrate on designing, cultivating, and growing their farm, slowly rising in the ranks to unlock new technology and opportunities that never veer away from intimate, hands-on farming.
Agraria is an intentional hybrid of genres, combining features to create a customizable but focused fantasy farming experience.
It combines aspects of:
- Cozy Farm Life Games (Story of Seasons, Stardew Valley): The basic cozy farming loop will be familiar to fans of the genre. Hand-farming on an expanding farm of tile-based fields. Sow, water, fertilize, harvest. It builds a little on the structure as well - weeds can grow and need weeding, and push tools eventually help automate without losing the hands-on feel.
- Farm Simulators (Farming Simulator): Because farming is the focus, farming simulation is a bit deeper in Agraria, in some ways comparable to a deeper farm simulator. There are various fertilization options, organic and chemical, which can be applied over multiple days to increase crop quality. Players can also use specialized soil monitors for organic certification; organic crops are worth more, but any application of chemical fertilizer or herbicide spoils the harvest.
- Automation Sims (Satisfactory, Factorio): Agraria's progression system is most influenced by the automation and management sim genre. While there are a few optional social-based objectives, progression is based on a tiered ranking system divided into trials. Prove mastery of existing systems to unlock 47 trials, each granting access to something new. Every rank includes a final supply trial - complete it to move up to the next rank, unlocking more trials, contracts, and available land to purchase. It's a very objective and clear progression system.
But even though Agraria is light on social obligation, it's heavy on personality! There are many characters you'll get to know over the course of your journey.
- Tammy & Bobby: Your Agraria Inc. representatives. Tammy, the Regional Manager, is all in on company rhetoric. Bobby, in new Engineer Training, has seen it all. You'll hear from them mostly via email.
- Harold Macintosh III, Agraria Inc. CEO: He's not evil. He's just dangerously lacking in self-awareness.
- Lars Mouser: A junior inspector with an eye for conspiracy theories. Fans of the X-Files will find him very familiar. He's happy to suck you into whatever monster of the week he's investigating now.
- Ruby Diaz: An old-timer neighbor who's full of company wisdom (or gossip, depending on how you look at it).
- Juniper Fields: A botonist and amateur gardener who visits your property in search of rare wild crops. When they show up, they'll give you advice about what wild crops to look for that day.
- Capsquatch: Not much is known about this enigmatic cryptid, except that he has large feet and wears a size XXXXL ballcap.
Plus hours of custom music, in-game podcasts, and more!
Agraria is built to be play-it-your-way. Casual cozy farming, deep farm simulation, darkly funny corporate satire, or even all three!
