Obenseuer

WHY THIS GAME IS WORTH IT FOR CONTENT CREATORS?

Obenseuer  is a gritty, brutal open-world survival RPG that avoids hand-holding and generic survival tropes. Instead of just fighting for survival, it is a deeply atmospheric sandbox built around slow-burn roleplay, complex systems, dark humor, and a deep mystery looming under it all. It has potential for long series, funny moments, and completely unhinged chaos (likely involving 10,000 rats).

  • The Ultimate "Slumlord" Simulator: Your community drives your business decisions as you start by looting trash bins and collecting bottles, eventually moving into brewing quality alcohol and selling handicrafts (or stolen goods). Attract tenants to turn a literal rathole into a profitable tenement.
  • Addictions & Unforgiving Survival: Balancing severe addictions, depression, disease, and radiation creates sudden moments where just one bad decision can throw the gameplay into total chaos.
  • Pure Unpredictability & Dark Humor: The game is full of completely unhinged characters and unexpected turns of events, with secrets and dark humor sprinkled about everywhere. Story and lore is written in a way that completely unpredicted and crazy things will hapen.
  • Visual Progression: Overhauling and decorating bare, crumbling concrete rooms into actual cozy, habitable spaces—and building your own basement factory—will grant a nice, satisfying sense of progress for your community.
  • Quests & Open World Exploration: The walled-off quarantine zone is packed with dark secrets, hidden pathways, and jobs. Whether your community wants you to follow the twisted main storyline or just break into buildings to steal supplies, every building and apartment in this game can be entered and looted. Progressing the main quest will grant access to new massive districts: the Mines and the Bazaar.

CREATOR GUIDE

To make sure you have everything you need to create content around Obenseuer. Because the game avoids hand-holding, mastering the early-game survival loop is key to keeping your content engaging and progression moving forward.
How to Get Started & Master the Gameplay
  • Overcome the Initial Overwhelm: The first few in-game days can feel a bit overwhelming as you try to process all the moving parts. Give yourself time to get used to the systems.
  • Survive the First 48 Hours: The initial days are the most brutal. Focus on the absolute basics: scavenging trash bins, collecting bottles for quick cash, buying decent tasting food and securing a steady source of clean water to prevent immediate collapse.
  • Focus on Quests & Early-Day Jobs: Doing introductory quests and tasks is one of the best ways to get your bearings. To secure reliable early money, take advantage of starting jobs like the telemarketing gig or diving into basic farming to build up funds for early tenement upgrades.
  • Manage Needs, Addictions & Mental Health: Learning to balance your character's physical needs alongside addictions, and mental health mechanics like depression is a core part of the gameplay. Keeping your character's mind and body functional under these brutal conditions is crucial to stay alive and functional. Good food, hot shower, sauna and a decent bed (available in Kolhola hostel), with occasional volunteering at local aid agency, will do a miracles to a mental health without needing to resort into coping with green mushrooms. Unsatisfied addiction needs will heavily tank mental health. The trick is to satisfy the addictions with small doses.
